FOREST RESTORATION PLANNING AND
ASSESSMENT FOR THE SOUTHERN PINE BEETLE AND OTHER INVASIVE PEST SPECIES
The project is currently conducted on four representative National Forests in the Southern Appalachian Mountains: the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests in west North Carolina, the Cherokee National Forest along the border of eastern Tennessee, and the Chattahoochee National Forest in northern Georgia.

The specific Ranger Districts will be selected for study based on history of SPB outbreaks and the extent and completeness of spatial and tabular databases available.
